NATIONAL YOUNG WOMAN OF DISTINCTION

Julia became a National Young Woman of Distinction when her Gold Award Project was selected as one of the top 10 projects in the nation in 2014. Julia is the first National Young Woman of Distinction from Kentucky.

Former CEO of Girl Scouts of the USA Anna Maria Chavez said, "Being named a National Young Woman of Distinction is the highest honor a girl can earn through Girl Scouts, and it is emblematic of her vision, resolve, and commitment to putting her skills to work to make the world a better place."

As a Young Woman of Distinction, Julia was recognized at the 2014 Girl Scouts National Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah. At the convention, she served as an ambassador for Girl Scouts and made presentations including a speech at the closing ceremony to over 6,000 Girl Scouts. View her speech here
